Junior Members of The Lassus Scholars

Many young singers who participated in the Orlandus Summer School held in St Kevin’s Church, Harrington Street in August 2016 and August 2017 are now very valuable Junior Members of The Lassus Scholars.

Those who are also ‘graduates’ of Piccolo Lasso have acquired excellent sight-singing skills and are now enjoying singing with ease many of the most amazing Renaissance choral masterworks. During the most recent academic term – Sept-Dec 2017 – they performed Palestrina: Missa Brevis, Missa Aeterna Christi munera and Missa Papae Marcelli; Victoria: Missa O quam gloriosum and Byrd: Mass for Four voices in addition to numerous motets including Bruckner’s Locus iste. In the same term they performed in the National Concert Hall on two occasions – Sept 23rd in a performance of Mozart’s Te Deum and Coronation Mass and on December 13th in the ESB Great Christmas Concert.

Junior Members of The Lassus Scholars are aged between 14 and 17 years. At age 18 they are eligible to audition to become scholarship members of The Lassus Scholars.
