The Orlando Chamber Orchestra (named after Orlando di Lasso) comprises many of Dublin’s most experienced professional musicians. The orchestra has accompanied The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso in performances of Mozart’s Requiem and ‘Great’ Mass in C minor, Bach’s Magnificat, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Haydn’s Theresienmesse and Nelson Mass and Honegger’s Une Cantate de Noël at the National Concert Hall in recent years. Members of the orchestra regularly join the choirs in liturgical performances of the smaller masses by Mozart, Schubert and Haydn, including Mozart’s ‘Coronation’ Mass, Spatzenmesse, Mass in D; Schubert’s Mass in G and Mass in C which take place at various venues. Some players also accompanied The Lassus Scholars on their Italian tour in 1997. The Orlando Chamber Orchestra accompanied the Lassus Scholars on their recording of Mozart Masses “Mozart 250.”
